Composite Garden Rooms
If you’re looking for an elegant and durable garden room, then choosing a composite installation will bring you a range of significant advantages over the years.
Composite options are low maintenance, constructed using cladding which requires only an occasional clean-down to keep it in prime condition. Unlike natural timber, the material will not absorb moisture and is ideally suited for building exteriors.
Your composite garden room will retain its appearance over many years; the colour will not fade and it will not be subject to insect attack or rot.
At Make Room Outside, we have different composite ranges to suit all budgets, with styles and configurations to match your aspirations. From small garden rooms to larger spaces with patios and even hot tubs, we have the design to suit your requirements.
Planning permission
Planning permission is usually not required for a new extension, but building regulations are a consideration, and we always recommend you consult your local planning office to ensure the building comes under the auspices of permitted development.
Design your composite garden room
Thinking about a composite option? Use our easy online designer. We’ve designed it so you can create your perfect outdoor garden room space in line with your budget, the space you have available and exactly what you want the room to do for you. You can add in different types of cladding, doors, windows and other options to see what the eventual cost may be, in line with your budget.
What are the benefits of composite garden rooms?
Composite garden buildings offer a whole range of benefits over the natural wood choice.
-
Minimal maintenance requirements: composite materials only require a simple clean-down every year. There is no need to paint, seal or stain the exterior, as our composite materials are designed to resist stains and mildew.
-
Long-lasting durability: composite materials are designed to withstand even the most rigorous outdoor conditions. They are moisture-resistant and will not deform, warp or swell, even when subjected to harsh weather.
-
They will look just the same in ten years: Inherent resistance to UV light means your garden room will be the same colour it is today in ten years and won’t fade or degrade due to sunlight.
-
They can be as energy-efficient as you want them to be: At Make Room Outside, our garden buildings provide high levels of insulation for use in all seasons for comfort all year round.
-
Excellent aesthetics: designed for elegant outdoor living, our composite construction is available in a range of permanent colours to enhance the look and feel of your garden, blending seamlessly with your outdoor space.
-
A wide choice of interior and exterior finishes: Choose designs, styles and colours to match your preferences and ideas. From a garden office through to gyms, studios, playrooms and teenage hang-out spaces, most garden rooms can be configured to your specific requirements, from exterior to interior specifications.
-
Increase the value of your home: Research shows that the installation of additional attractive and functional outdoor living spaces can add to the value of your property.
-
Like timber garden rooms, the composite options usually come under the umbrella of permitted development and do not require planning permission. We always recommend you consult with your local planning office.
What are the different colours and finishes available?
Choosing a composite space gives you a wealth of colour, finish and design options.
At Make Room Outside, we offer a choice of 20 different attractive and contemporary colour options designed to harmonise with your home and garden. Choose from different styles of doors and double-glazed windows to create the perfect leisure space for a warm and comfortable family room.
Our high-quality garden building composite cladding is available in different textures and finishes, including flat panel board, slatted cladding and a wood grain option that replicates natural timber with none of the maintenance requirements.
High-quality fibrous cement board, recycled wood and plastic panel external cladding provide a durable, zero-maintenance choice.
Is a composite garden room more expensive?
Our fully insulated composite designs are generally very similar in price to the timber-clad alternatives, dependent upon the composite board chosen. Door options and window options are the same. We can provide composite options to match all budget requirements.
Lots of design options
There’s no limitation of potential designs, styles and applications.
We offer a full range of options, with garden rooms designed for applications ranging from summerhouses to gyms, home offices and even salons and art studios for extra space.
Choose a canopy for shady summer days, a patio or a roof overhang. Specify your preferred door options and double-glazed windows, laminate flooring, electrical, lighting and heating packages, and even plumbing, external lights and outdoor sockets.
Everything we provide for a timber garden room can be installed as a composite alternative.
Fully installed
We believe in the ‘no hidden extras’ approach for the whole process. All our garden rooms include a full installation service, covering foundations, construction, flooring, internal wiring, skirtings, plasterboard and plaster skim. Doors, windows and insulation are included too.
You only need to provide your internal décor, painting and a mains electrical connection from your home.
